I love fishbone gear ties. I had tried them all except for this one. So i decided it was time to try it out. I've only used it once, when I was moving my daughter home from college for the summer I tied her mini fridge to a hand truck to get it down a flight of stairs.
The snapper did the job. The thing is, i use paracord for everything. It's probably going to be a while before I use this to tie off rope again. But, I keep one of these sitting out under our canopy on a hook to open bottles. The current count is; used to tie something - 1, used to open beer - 20+.
well wait... slight amendment. "used to open beer, then got asked 'what the heck is that'? and then tied something just to show how it worked" - I'm not sure, but more than a few.
For tying - my first choice is the standard fishbone.
For opening beers, the Snapper wins out.
The Snapper: Fish Bones bigger brother! Designed for up to 3/8" rope & smaller, it also eats bottle caps for breakfast!
No serrated edges.
The fish eye doubles as a quick release.
Form: Approximate Measurements: L = 3 3/4" W = 1/4" H = 1"
Function: Easy to set up and even easier to undo.
The smooth edges keep it from catching on other gear while in use. It can be used "in line", "in loop", "quick release" or however else you can think of.
A few simple wraps does all the work.
This item includes one (1) Stainless Steel (304) Snapper bagged with a Fish Bone Sticker.
